We seek and find. We hunt and gather. We inherit, we get bequeathed. We acquire, we salvage, we gain. We get over and trade away. The quest for the imperfect matter is fueled by the curious spirit. The hoard can only try and appease the deficient being.

This is the house as we found it in early February 2016. It is a 1903 built, Edwardian dwelling. We took it on because it captivated us with glimpses of its former beauty, disguised under the layers of unsightly alterations and incompetent improvements. It attracted us with its ulterior charm and sophisticated character and though sadly lacking many of its original features, it still oozed history and spoke volumes about the family that lived there before. Apparently we were only the third inhabitants of this home and that seemed quite special to us. Most of all it felt right and we could see the potential that the grand fabric offered if handled with comprehension and care. We were also seduced by the garden, which was the largest, most enchanting English garden that we came across in the city. The park lifestyle instantly appealed.
